Michigan State Industries

MSI Administrator

Greg Pic-Pg3

Administrator Greg Dancer

It is with great pleasure that we announce Greg Dancer has accepted the position as MSI Administrator.  Greg has been with Michigan State Industries for more than 20 years and brings a wealth of knowledge into this position.  Greg's appointment is effective March 19, 2023.  Greg will continue the MSI Mission of providing Michigan adults in custody with real-world opportunities and work skills training.  He also believes providing offenders with marketable skills gives them better opportunities to become successful contributing members of society upon release. MSI currently operates 12 different factories in 9 facilities across the state. All of the MSI employees do remarkable things to keep us successful and moving forward in a positive direction. Correctional Industries vs private sector industries present completely different challenges. It's not easy working inside prisons. They are full of obstacles that private sector operations never have to worry about.  Despite that our employees maintain safe operations and serve as mentors, coaches, and trainers to the offenders we employ statewide.  On behalf of all of us at MSI, I want to thank you for your support. We could not do it without you!!

From the Administrator

From all of us who work hard to bring you quality products and service, let me thank you for your support of Michigan State Industries (MSI).  Whether you are an employee, a customer, a partner, or a supplier I want to ensure you are aware of how much you are appreciated for all that you do for MSI, especially during these last 14 months as the world stood still and we all hunkered down to help reduce the spread of COVID-19.  It has been one crazy year and we are all looking forward to the return of normality.  It is the intent of this annual report to share a little more with you about who we are and what we do.  I am passionate about our people and our program, as you'll see as you make your way through our Annual Report.  Yes, we have factories that make things, but those are byproducts of our real mission here.  As the MSI Administrator, I am extremely proud of the individuals who choose to work for this organization, and I count those blessings each day.  People make the difference in any organization and in the MSI organization, people are making a difference.  Thank you for your continued support of MSI.
