Understanding the federal education benefits programs that you may qualify for can best help you meet your educational goals. U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs education benefits, commonly referred to as GI Bill® benefits are earned by members of Active Duty, Selected Reserve and National Guard Armed Forces.

There are several different federal education benefits programs to choose from, making it important for you to understand what you qualify for and what will best help you meet your education goals. The term GI Bill® refers to any Federal Tuition Assistance.

The Michigan National Guard State Tuition Assistance Program (MINGSTAP) is available to eligible members of the Michigan National Guard.

The GI Bill Comparison® Tool can be used to evaluate how to use this resource for several types of training to include: undergraduate and graduate degrees, on-the-job and apprenticeship training, flight training, non-college degree courses and entrepreneurship training. This tool also allows veterans, service members and their families to determine which GI Bill program is their best option.
