This year’s Michigan Military & Veterans Gala is presented by the National Guard Association of Michigan in partnership with the Michigan Department of Military and Veterans Affairs and the Michigan Veterans Affairs Agency.
It’s the place to be. Up to 375 Michigan veterans, service members and advocates are expected to gather in Detroit for our sixth annual Gala. State executives, policymakers and military-connected personnel of just about every rank and era, along with their significant others, will enjoy a regal night of eating, drinking, dancing and celebrating our patriots.
Honor our veterans. The night features a formal presentation of awards to our veterans, service members and those who advocate for them. We’ll honor a Veteran of the Year, a Veteran-Friendly Volunteer of the Year, our Army and Air National Guard members and others for their exemplary service.
Support our mission. Fundamental to the mission of the Michigan Department of Military and Veterans Affairs is the belief that those who serve our state and nation are “members for life.” From the day they take their oath, and throughout their military and civilian lives, we support them — and this is the one night of the year set aside to do so formally.
