Reporting Instruction Manual
Step 2: Create the report
Creating retirement detail reports
Every reporting unit must send retirement detail reports to ORS every pay period. These reports contain your payroll information. You can create these reports in two different ways:
- Copying a report forward.
- Creating a new report.
Step 1: Create a report header
Creating a report header with start and end dates is the first step. Log in to the Employer Reporting website. Click Work on Reports on the Things To Do menu. This opens the Work On Retirement Detail Reports screen. Next, click Create a New Report.
Use the Create a New Report screen to make the header. Type in the report begin and end dates. These are usually the first and last dates of a pay period. They must match the dates on your payroll calendar. The begin date of your report must be the day after the end date of your last report.
If you need help finding your dates, click View Payroll Calendar on the Things To Do menu. Choose the fiscal year calendar you want to see. You will get an error message if the dates do not match the calendar. You must fix the dates to continue.
Step 2: Choose your method
Your report and individual records must match the payroll calendar dates. If record dates are outside the report dates, the records will suspend. A suspended record is a record that pauses and will not finish. You must fix these records to post the wages and years of service.
