Denis joined the MVAA as our Data and Budget Specialist in April of 2024. In September 2025, he was appointed as the Acting Grant Manager for the agency.
He retired from the Michigan Army National Guard in 2012 after 22 years of military service. As a mustang, serving both enlisted and commissioned time while in service, his duty assignments included time in administration, ordinance, logistics and finance as the Deputy Financial Manager for the Michigan Army National Guard.
Since retirement, Denis has worked for the Lansing Police Department as their Budget Supervisor, and most recently as the Village Manager in Dimondale, Michigan. Both positions included grant management for numerous grants. He's very excited to be back in the veteran space.
Denis holds a BA in Management and Organizational Development from Spring Arbor University.
He is a husband, father and grandfather who spends his free time with his family either at his cabin, camping, or time outdoors on the AuSable River.
