MiLEAP is pleased to lead a grant project in partnership with the Michigan Department of Labor and Economic Opportunity (LEO), the Michigan Community College Association (MCCA), Michigan Association of State Universities (MASU), Michigan Independent Colleges and Universities (MICU), and institutional partners across Michigan’s colleges and universities to strengthen efforts to ensure seamless stackable credential pathways from work experience to applied bachelor's degree completion programs.
This work builds on prior investments, including the State’s Transfer Success Project, the Michigan Transfer Network's Industry Credentials Database, the existing MiWorkforce Pathways framework, and the Michigan College Credit for Apprenticeships program.
The initiative, Scaling MiWorkforce Pathways, seeks to expand college and university participation in current MiWorkforce Pathways (Applied Business, General Applied Science, Healthcare, Information Technology); develop new MiWorkforce Pathways, including at least one pathway relevant to the construction trades; increase articulations for industry-recognized credentials on the Michigan Transfer Network (MTN); advance consistency and improved transparency around credit for prior learning (CPL) application across the transfer ecosystem; and deploy campus training and strategic marketing resources for multiple audiences.
