Office of Legislative Affairs (OLA)
The Office of Legislative Affairs (OLA) is the Department’s liaison with the Legislature. This office works collaboratively with all divisions throughout the Department to propose potential new legislation and legislative updates.
The OLA is the main point of contact between the Michigan Legislature and the Department of Attorney General. OLA provides the review of legislation proposed by the members of the House and Senate as well as provides the position of the Department of Attorney General on those proposals in formal and informal settings.
This office also facilitates testimony before the legislature on new proposals and the Department’s budget.
