Nessel Welcomes Request to Reconsider Expanding Elliott-Larsen Civil Rights Act
February 01, 2019
LANSING – Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel today welcomed the Civil Rights Commission’s request to reconsider her predecessor’s opinion on expanding the state’s Elliott-Larsen Civil Rights Act to include protections from discrimination based on sexual orientation and gender identity.
“I welcome the opportunity to reevaluate this important issue to ensure all people who live in and visit our state are treated equally and fairly under the law,” Nessel said.
