Looking For Emergency Shelter and Housing Services?

If you are experiencing homelessness or at risk of becoming homeless, HELP IS AVAILABLE.

MSHDA funds local service agencies to support emergency shelter and rental assistance in all of Michigan's 83 counties. To see what help might be available to you or your family, we encourage you to reach out to a service agency in your area using these free helplines, directories, and support links below.

Housing Assessment and Resource Agency (HARA)

Individual housing needs assessments and service referrals are done through a single, centralized Housing Assessment and Resource Agency (HARA) in every community. Each HARA has a Housing Resource Specialist that works with individuals to gather information to determine both need and eligibility and then connect them to services, as appropriate. To locate your local HARA, please click the HARA link above.
