Michigan Veteran Resource Service Center expands morning hours

The Michigan Veteran Resource Service Center (MVRSC) is adding two extra hours in the morning to further accommodate the needs of Michigan's veterans. Beginning Nov. 15, the MVRSC will expand its hours from 6 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. The MVRSC currently operates from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. with trained service center technicians ready to take calls from veterans in need of assistance.

Launched in Sept. 2014, the MVRSC helps veterans and their families retrieve their military documents, navigate veteran benefit programs and find services to assist in their communities by calling 800-MICH-VET (800-642-4838). MVRSC is a collaborative partnership between the Michigan Veterans Affairs Agency (MVAA) and Michigan 211.

The MVRSC is staffed by technicians during the day, while trained 211 agents take over after hours, ensuring someone is there to answer calls 24/7. Trained technicians are knowledgeable in all areas concerning veteran benefits and resources. Veterans can call to request copies of their discharge documents, inquire about available benefits including medical, compensation and pension, or to be connected to a VA-certified Veteran Service Officer who can walk them through the claims process.
