The Licensing & Regulation (L&R) Division provides legal services to several bureaus within the Michigan Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs (LARA):
The division also represents numerous licensing boards created under the Public Health Code and the Occupational Code, as well as the Michigan Indigent Defense Commission. In addition, the division represents the Cannabis Regulatory Agency.
On an annual basis, the division represents LARA in hundreds of administrative actions, as well as civil actions in state and federal court.
