Asheley McMath
Special Agent
Special Agent Asheley McMath has been in law enforcement since 2009. From 2009-2013 she worked for Saginaw Police Department. She came to the Attorney General's Office from East Lansing Police Department where she served for the last 11 years. During her time with ELPD, she worked nights patrol shift until joining the Detective Bureau in June 2020. Initially while in the Detective Bureau, she focused on all general cases until she became the lead Special Victim's Detective investigating Criminal Sexual Conduct Child related cases. As a Detective, she also became involved in Multidisciplinary Teams and Child Advocacy Centers in the area. She is trained in REID Technique of Interviewing & Interrogation, Forensic Interviewing of Children, Child Death Investigation and Trauma informed interviewing.
Over her time in law enforcement, she went back to Delta College Police Academy as an instructor for physical training and was an adjunct at the Delta College teaching Intro to Criminal Justice. During the time at SPD and ELPD she received rewards and was recognized for her hard work.
Special Agent McMath received a Bachelor's degree in Justice Studies from Kent State University where she also played college basketball.
In additional she earned her Master's degree from Walden University in Criminal Justice in 2012 and is a PhD Candidate with Walden University.
