Sunday Hours for Consumer Protection Hotline Canceled

LANSING - The Michigan Department of Attorney General is canceling the Consumer Protection tip line hours for Sunday as the office implements a program to allow employees to work from home.

The office would like to thank the legislators who agreed to help staff the office's Consumer Protection tip line: Congresswoman Elissa Slotkin, state Sens. Curtis Hertel Jr. and Jeremy Moss, and Reps. Julie Brixie, Christine Greig, Jim Haadsma, Kara Hope, Sheryl Kennedy, Matt Koleszar, Laurie Pohutsky, Yousef Rabhi and Angela Witwer, and Wayne County Commissioner David Knezek, who is also Nessel's director of legislative affairs.

The Attorney General's office would also like to inform members of the media that a total count of consumer complaints received by the office may be delayed due to implementation of the new program. Your patience as we transition toward expanded telecommuting capabilities with this new technology is appreciated.

Generally, the phone lines are operated from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.

The Attorney General's office has received a high volume of consumer complaints of price-gouging related to the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19). Complaints may be filed online or by calling the Consumer Protection tip line at 877-765-8388.
