Defendant Apprehended in 2011 Homicide

LANSINGChadwick Shane Mobley, 42, will be arraigned on charges related to the 2011 Lapeer County homicide of Andrea Eilber, Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel announced.  

In 2011, Eilber was shot in the head at the home of a relative in Lapeer. Evidence found at the scene was tested for DNA during the immediate investigation, and again in 2022 in a renewed effort that positively identified Mobley, who by then resided in the state of Utah. Mobley fled his home shortly after questioning by MSP and was apprehended Wednesday by the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Department in Libby, Montana. He is presently in the custody of the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Department and is awaiting transfer to Michigan to face these charges.

“I appreciate the hard work and coordination between the Michigan State Police, Lincoln County Sheriff’s Department and law enforcement agents in Utah who helped facilitate this arrest,” said Nessel. “My department remains committed to seeking justice for crime victims, regardless of how long it takes to receive it.”   

Mobley is being charged with:

  • One count, First Degree Murder, a felony that carries a life sentence without the possibility of parole;
  • One count, Felony Murder, a felony that carries a life sentence without the possibility of parole; and
  • One count, Felony Firearm, a two-year felony.

A date for Mobley's appearance before a Michigan judge has not yet been determined.
