AG Nessel Announces Appointment of Mackinac County Public Administrator

LANSING – Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel today announced the recent appointment of Erin Evashevski (JPG) as Mackinac County Public Administrator.

“I would like to congratulate Erin on her appointment as a County Administrator,” Nessel said. “Her proven track record resolving complex probate cases will be invaluable to Mackinac County.”

County public administrators have powers and duties primarily related to intestate decedent estates where there are apparently no known heirs, including managing the determination, collection, liquidation, and/or distribution of any assets in the estate. Attorneys who serve in this capacity often also have private practice responsibilities that are separate and unrelated to their appointment as county public administrators.

“I am pleased to welcome County Public Administrator Evashevski as the newest member of the team of talented and passionate attorneys that serve as county public administrators across the State,” said State Public Administrator Randi M. Merchant.

Erin Evashevski, of Mackinac County, is a graduate of Michigan State University and the University of Miami School of Law. She joined her father in private practice in 2016 and now is partnered with her brother, John. Evashevski’s practice focuses primarily on municipal law, business law, probate and estate planning, and real estate law. Evashevski was sworn in on April 8th.
