Walled Lake Garage Contractor Sentenced to 40-240 Months for Scamming Customers

LANSING – Yesterday, Artemio ‘Temo’ Sessions, 56, of Walled Lake, was sentenced by Judge Cheryl Matthews in the 6th Circuit Court in Oakland County to 40-240 months’ incarceration, announced Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel. Sessions was charged in April of 2021 for repeatedly scamming homeowners out of tens of thousands of dollars under the guise of eventually building for them garages, and in January he was convicted by a jury of False Pretenses and Conducting a Criminal Enterprise.

“Michigan consumers want the professionals they contract with to be reputable, skilled tradesmen, not rampant scammers,” said Nessel. “Sessions ripped off unsuspecting customers for tens of thousands of dollars, and today's sentence will put an end to his criminal scheming. When in the market for construction or home repairs, I encourage all Michigan residents to research the contractors they consider. My office will continue to hold accountable those who criminally fail to deliver and simply run off with their customers’ hard-earned money.”

Sessions used his business, Garages R Us, to defrauded customers out of tens of thousands of dollars for contracted jobs to build or repair garages. Felony charges were filed in connection to specific customers in Pontiac, Westland, Rochester Hills, Mt. Clemens, Redford, and Saline. Sessions contracted with customers, obtained payment, and then continually made excuses for his failure to initiate or complete the work. After a period, Sessions would stop returning calls or messages.
