Bellaire Man Sentenced to 17-40 years for Criminal Sexual Conduct Against Relative
November 04, 2024
LANSING – Today, John Hendrickson, 59, of Bellaire, was sentenced by Judge John A. Hallacy in the 37th Circuit Court in Calhoun County to 17-40 years’ incarceration for repeatedly sexually assaulting a minor relative for many years, announced Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel. Hendrickson pled no contest to four counts of First-Degree CSC in August that he perpetrated on the minor relative in his Leroy Township home.
"Sexual assault is a heinous crime that leaves lasting scars,” said Nessel at the time the defendant pled. “I’m grateful we were able to secure justice for the victim in this case without prolonging their suffering with a trial. The victim’s courage in coming forward after years of abuse is truly inspiring. I want to assure all victims of sexual assault that my Department is committed to supporting survivors and ensuring that perpetrators are held accountable, no matter how many years have passed.”
Following completion of a prison sentence, Henrickson would be subject to lifetime electronic monitoring and sex offender registration.
