Marquette Man Convicted of Six Counts of First-Degree Criminal Sexual Conduct

LANSING – Yesterday, Ward Glass, 69, of Marquette, was convicted by a Houghton County jury of six counts of First-Degree Criminal Sexual Conduct, announced Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel.

Ward sexually assaulted the victim multiple times between 1993 and 1996 when she was a minor and they resided in the same Houghton County home. The victim filed a complaint with the Michigan State Police in 2024 after encountering Ward after nearly three decades. Ward was charged by the Department of Attorney General in September 2024.

“Coming forward to report a sexual assault takes extraordinary courage,” Nessel said. “I commend the survivor in this case for her strength and the Michigan State Police and prosecutors in my office for their diligent work in pursuing this case and securing this conviction. My office will continue to stand with survivors and pursue justice, no matter how much time has passed.”

Ward is scheduled to be sentenced on January 6 before the Honorable Brittany A. Bulleit in the 12th Circuit Court in Houghton County.
