Address Changes for EITC Supplemental Checks

Is Treasury Sending Me a Check?

Supplemental Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC) payments are being mailed to eligible taxpayers who claimed the EITC on their 2022 tax return.

How Much Will My Check Be For?

The amount on your 2022 MI1040 Line 27b, multiplied by 4.

Where Was My Check Sent?

Checks are being sent to the most recent address on file, as of February 1, between your 2022 and 2023 Individual Income tax returns.

What is the Status of My Check?

Unfortunately, there is no way to track the status of your check but if you have not received your check by at least April 1, please contact us.

My Address Wasn't Correct, Can I Still Update My Mailing Address?

It is too late to update your address for the first mailing of the EITC supplemental checks.

When the undeliverable check is returned to Treasury, we will send it out again, but this time to the address provided on your 2023 individual income tax return (if you filed) or your manual address update if it is processed in time.

Filing a 2023 return is the fastest and best method of updating your information.

Treasury is committed to making every effort to get your check to you, even if you do not file a 2023 return or update your address.

How Do I Update My Address?

File Your 2023 Tax Return

The fastest way to update your address is to file your 2023 Individual Income tax return. The address on your return will automatically be the one used to resend your 2022 EITC supplemental check.

File Your Return

Online With eServices

You may also manually update your address online with eServices portal. However, due to high volume, your update may not be processed in time for the next mailing attempt. Filing your 2023 return really is the most effective method.
