NPMs in Michigan

Inclusion of a tobacco manufacturer or tobacco brand family on Michigan’s NPM Directory certifies that obligations have been met under sections 6c and 6d of 1993 PA 327 (MCL 205.426c and 205.426d).

Persons selling cigarettes or roll-your-own (RYO) for consumption in Michigan that were manufactured by either NPMs, or Participating Manufacturers (PMs) should consult other state and federal laws to determine whether a tobacco brand can be sold legally in Michigan.

Tobacco Manufacturers

Manufacturers' specifically listed cigarette brands may be legally possessed, purchased, and sold pursuant to provisions of 1999 PA 244 (MCL 445.2051 et seq) and the Tobacco Products Tax Act, MCL 205.421 et seq.
