Retailers and dealers purchase beverages in returnable containers from distributors and manufacturers and then sell the beverages to consumers. They accept empty containers returned by customers.

Request Compensation

Retailers and dealers may request reimbursement to offset some of the costs associated with handling returned containers.

  • Filing Deadline – file Form 2196, Request for Bottle Deposit Fund Reimbursement online by June 1 to report the number of empty returnable containers handled in the previous calendar year (not the deposit amount).
  • Reimbursement Checks – issued after August 1.
