Accessing MTO

Browser Compatibility

Use a browser supported by MTO to access the online application:

If you are unsure which browser you are using, follow these steps:
  1. Select Help in the browser toolbar
  2. Select the About menu option. The type and version of your browser should be listed here.


If you are trying to access MTO from a non-US IP address, you will likely run into Error 522 and be unable to interact with the web service. Currently, there are only ten countries from which you can access MTO:

  • Canada
  • France
  • Germany
  • India
  • Ireland
  • Israel
  • Netherlands
  • Singapore
  • the United Kingdom
  • and the United States


MTO does not require you to install any software. However, to view some information (including letters sent to your business or print copies of filed returns), you will need to download the latest version of Adobe Reader.
