Line 42 of the MI-1040CR is a carry-over amount used to calculate your property tax credit. If you are a recipient of benefits from Family Independence Payments (FIP) or the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS), please complete worksheet 4 for this amount.

Line 53 of the MI-1040CR is the eligible rent you paid for your Michigan home for the year you selected above.

Line 55 of the MI-1040CR is used if you lived in subsidized or service fee housing in Michigan. This is the total eligible rent you personally paid during the year. Do not include amounts paid directly by a government agency.
