Scammers are contacting taxpayers while pretending to be from the Michigan Department of Treasury, using out‑of‑state phone numbers. They may request payments or attempt to trick you into providing your bank account information. Always verify the source before sharing any personal or financial details.
Business Portal - Access Levels Explained

To access any of the services in your account, you must first go to the Business Portal.
-

-
Level 2 Access: Logged In Services
Logging in unlocks additional functionality. As a MiTreasury eServices -Business Portal user, you can send a registration application, submit certain returns and reports, and securely message Treasury.
-
Level 3 Access: Connected Services
This protected access level provides users access to submitting all supported returns and reports (including amended forms), viewing and updating tax records, and retrieving copies of Treasury letters.
Business Portal User Roles
Administrator Role
Responsible parties of the entity (owners, officers, partners, etc.) should establish an administrator role. Administrators have the special authority to electronically view and manage registration and licensing data. Administrators are essential to third parties gaining access online by approving or denying their access requests.
Manager Role
Employees of an entity who are responsible for tax or business matters should establish a manager role. Managers gain access to connected services without the obligation to maintain registration data nor respond to third party access requests.
Third Party User Roles
Third parties include, but are not limited to, tax professionals, service providers, and attorneys. Third parties must log in and request access to the business account to gain access to tax records. A business administrator must electronically approve this request. A Power of Attorney (POA) authorization on file with Treasury does not bypass this process.
