Get a Library Card
All employees of the State of Michigan (SOM) are eligible for Library of Michigan library cards. This card allows the holder to:
- Check out materials from the Library of Michigan's circulating collections
- Access online resources especially for state employees
State of Michigan government employees may apply for library cards online by completing the form below or in person at the Library's 2nd floor Reference Desk. The Library building is open Monday - Friday, 10 am to 5 pm and Saturday, 10 am to 4 pm.

The Library of Michigan complies with the guidelines set forth by PA 455 of 1982 (Michigan Compiled Laws 397.601- 397.605: The Library Privacy Act), regarding confidentiality of patron records and circulation transactions.
Residents of Michigan who are not State of Michigan employees may apply online for a Library of Michigan library card using the online general library card application or in-person at the Library of Michigan.
