Michigan Materials
Titles are selected that enhance the knowledge of the State and its people. The collection consists of items in multiple formats including books, microform, maps, AV, and more. Also find Fiction and poetry works written by a Michigan author, or the work is set in Michigan or the Great Lakes.
The Michigan Collection is located on the second floor of the Library. Locate items housed in the collection by using ANSWER, the Library of Michigan’s online catalog. First copies of all titles in the Michigan collection are noncirculating and must be used within the Library. Any duplicate copies can be checked out by those with a Library of Michigan library card.
Many Michigan items are also housed in the Martha W. Griffiths Michigan Rare Book Room. The Rare Book Room is open Monday – Friday by appointment between 10:00AM-5:00PM. Please call 517-335-1477 or email Librarian@Michigan.gov to schedule an appointment.
