Several Library of Michigan staff members are available to speak both virtually and in-person on a wide range of topics connected to Michigan libraries, history, literature, and more. Look in the list below for the audiences and topics each person can speak to as well as the contact information for connecting to them.
If you do not see a topic of interest listed below, email Librarian@Michigan.gov as Library of Michigan staff may be able to develop a program based on a requested subject. All programs are subject to staff schedules and availability.
Presenter Compensation
As State of Michigan employees, no Library of Michigan staff member may be financially compensated for speaking at your library or organization. If you wish to provide an honorarium for their program, please submit honoraria payments to the Library of Michigan Foundation.
Adam Oster
Title: Community Engagement Librarian
Primary Audience: Libraries, genealogical societies, historical organizations
Biography: Adam Oster is the Community Engagement Librarian for the Library of Michigan. Adam holds a Bachelor of Arts in History from Grand Valley State University with a minor in Political Science and Secondary Education Certification. He also has a Master of Library Science degree from Indiana University. Adam’s interests include genealogy and local history research.

Matt Pacer
Title: Reference Librarian
Primary Audience: Libraries, genealogical societies, historical organizations
Biography: Matt Pacer serves as a Reference Librarian, Donation Coordinator, and coordinator of the Michigan and Rare Collections for the Library of Michigan. Matt holds a Bachelor of Arts in History from Wright State University, a Master of Arts in Military History from Kansas State University, and a Master of Library and Information Science from Wayne State University.

Group visits and guided tours of the Library of Michigan may be arranged by emailing Librarian@Michigan.gov or calling 517-335-1477. All tours are subject to staff availability. Please give at least two weeks advance notice for arranging tours.
State of Michigan Employee Tours and Tutorials
Library of Michigan staff are available to provide tours and tutorial sessions to State of Michigan employees on Library resources. Tours/Sessions may be scheduled for in-person at our facility or remotely through Microsoft Teams. Email us at Librarian@Michigan.gov or call 517-335-1477 for available dates/times.
