Osceola

Unwattin County was the original name of Osceola County.  It was given to the county in 1840.  By 1843, the Unwattin changed to Osceola, named for a chief of the Seminole tribe.  Delos A. Blodgett is the first settler of the county.

Sixteen townships make up Osceola County.  Those townships are Burdell, Cedar, Evart, Hartwick, Hersey, Highland, LeRoy, Lincoln, Marion, Middle Branch, Orient, Osceola, Richmond, Rose Lake, Sherman, and Sylvan.  The cities and villages of Osceola are Evart, Reed City, Hersey, LeRoy, Marion, and Tustin.

Surrounding counties are Missaukee, Wexford, Clare, Lake and Mecosta.
