Thank you for presenting at the Mid-Michigan Local History Conference taking place on Saturday, October 3, 2026 at the Michigan Library and Historical Center. Please review the following information prior to attending:
The Visitor Lot for the Michigan Library and Historical Center (MLHC) is located southwest of the building's entrance. Find maps and additional details on the Contact and Visit Us section of the Library of Michigan's website.
Speakers are asked to arrive 15 minutes prior to the start of their session. Please check in at the Registration Desk that will be located by the MLHC's entrance in the 1st Floor Rotunda. After checking in, proceed to the room you are assigned for your presentation. All presenters are welcome to stay for the whole conference, including lunch.
Each room will be assigned a moderator to introduce your session, assist with any tech needs, and to make sure the timing of the event schedule is followed. Please make sure to discuss with the moderator a signal to indicate when you have 5 minutes left for your presentation to allow for Q&A.
Both the Lake Erie Room and Lake Michigan Room are set-up with podiums with microphones and HDMI cables that connect to a projector. Presenters are welcome to bring their own computers. If your device requires a special adaptor, please make sure to bring one with you as well as alert the conference organizers of the need for that adaptor. Please also tell the conference organizers if you require any additional tech setup so that it is prepared prior to your session.
Please provide a copy of your presentation’s PowerPoint if you are using a slideshow as part of your program. Email the file to Librarian@Michigan.gov or provide a link to where to download the file. All slideshows will be deleted following the event.
Lunch will be served at noon in the Lake Erie Room immediately after the 11:00AM session finishes. All presenters are welcome to stay for lunch. Everyone is welcome to stay in the Lake Erie Room to eat their lunch. Alternately, tables and seating in the Lake Huron Room next to the 2nd Floor Reference desk will serve as an eating space. The courtyard is also available as an eating space if both weather permits and construction is completed.
