Bulk E-File Error Codes
Error Code | Explanation of Error |
---|---|
B5010 | The file you are trying to upload is too small to include a wage record or is empty. |
B5020 | The system is unable to upload a file name that exceeds 20 character limit, or contains special characters or spaces. |
B5030 | The system is unable to upload the file. This file must be a ".zip" file and it must contain only one ".xml" file. |
B5040 | The file size you are trying to upload is too large. The system is unable to upload a single file larger than 10MB. Try reducing the size by splitting data into multiple files. You can save and upload multiple files. |
B5050 | The system is unable to upload the file. The system's security is compromised due to a virus/malware that has been identified in the file. |
B5060 | There was an unexpected error received while attempting to upload your file. Please submit your request again. If you continue to receive the message see "Troubleshooting MTO Error Messages" below. |
B5070 | An unexpected error occurred during file upload. Please submit your request again. If you continue to receive this message, see "Troubleshooting MTO Error Messages" below. |

EFW2 Error Codes

W3510 | The document you are trying to upload is not in ".txt" format. Documents uploaded in other formats may be re-saved in ".txt" file format and then re-uploaded. |
W3520 | The file size you are trying to upload is too large. The system is unable to upload a single file larger than 10MB. Try reducing the size by splitting data into multiple files. You can save and upload multiple files. |
W3530 | The system is unable to upload the file. The system's security is compromised due to infected or unrepaired file. |
W3540 | An unexpected error occurred during file upload. Please submit your request again. If you continue to receive this message, see "Troubleshooting MTO Error Messages" below. |

Troubleshooting MTO Error Messages
If you repeatedly receive an MTO error message, complete all of the following steps. Be sure to reattempt your MTO transaction after each step:
- Verify you are using an MTO supported web browser: Chrome, Edge, Firefox, Safari, Samsung Internet
- Log out of the MTO session and exit the browser completely
- Shutdown computer and restart
- Clear browser cache
- Switch web browsers and/or computers if possible
