  1. Visit www.michigan.gov/mitreasuryeservices.
  2. On the Michigan Treasury eServices page, select the Access the MiTreasury eServices – Citizen Portal button.
  3. On the MiTreasury eServices - Citizen Portal landing page, use the Sign in with MiLogin Citizen button.
  4. On the Welcome to MiLogin page, enter the User ID and Password for your MiLogin for Citizen profile and complete all log in steps.
  5. Once logged into the Citizen Portal, select the More… tab.
  6. In the Submissions and Messages section, select the View and Send Messages link.
  7. On the Messages page, use the Send a Message link.
  8. Choose the type of message (i.e. question type or request a callback):
    1. If the Select a Message Type menu is present, choose a question or callback option.
    2. If not, you must select the Individual Income Tax link and then the tax year that your question is concerning. Once the Select a Message Type menu is present, choose a question or callback option.
  9. Write your message. Include the primary focus of your question (e.g., return/refund status, ID verification, responding to a letter, etc.) with as much detail as possible. If you are requesting a callback, provide the phone number you want Treasury to call.
  10. When complete, use the Send button to finish your request. You will receive an acknowledgment of your submission.
  11. Please allow five business days to receive a response:
    1. If you sent a question, you will receive a web response through Michigan Treasury eServices.
    2. If you requested a callback, you will receive a call from a Treasury representative.
