IT Recycling & Repurposing

The state’s recycling contract does not provide services for IT items such as desktops, toner cartridges, keyboards, computer cords, etc. However, DTMB’s Automated Asset Recovery Program (AARP) is here to help. The AARP will pick up your out-of-date of discarded IT assets and either retire them from inventory or place them in stock at Depot (General Services Building) for future deployment. To initiate service please submit an AARP request.

State agencies can review AARP rules and helpful quick tips about the program.

Confidential Records Destruction

State documents and records containing sensitive or confidential information should be destroyed in a secure manner that prevents reconstruction of the records and unauthorized access to information.

State Surplus

The State Surplus Property Program is available for state agencies in assisting in the removal, repurposing, and sale of State of Michigan surplus property.
