Michigan CIO Laura Clark wins 2023 ORBIE® Award

Michigan Chief Information Officer (CIO) Laura Clark took home top honors in the nonprofit/public sector at the 2023 Michigan CIO ORBIE Awards in November. Appointed by Gov. Whitmer in 2021, Clark directs the State of Michigan’s technology and security efforts that serve state employees, stakeholders, and Michigan residents, visitors, and businesses.

The ORBIE Award is synonymous with the excellence and signifies exceptional leadership, innovation, and vision. The award represents the characteristics and qualities that inspire others to achieve their potential.

The ORBIE Awards

The ORBIE Awards are the premier technology executive recognition program in the U.S. Since its inception, over 700 technology leaders have received the prestigious award. The ORBIE honors chief information officers who have demonstrated excellence in technology leadership. Finalists and winners are selected by an independent peer review process led by prior ORBIE recipients and based upon leadership and management effectiveness, business value created by technology innovation, and engagement in industry and community endeavors.

MichiganCIO

MichiganCIO is the preeminent peer leadership network of Michigan chief information officers. The membership is comprised exclusively of CIOs (or equivalent executive roles) from public and private companies, government, education, healthcare, and nonprofit organizations. MichiganCIO is led by a CIO Advisory Board, which sets the annual program agenda for the association. Events are facilitated by a full-time executive director and professional staff. MichiganCIO events are CIO-led and attended solely by CIO-level executives.
