DTMB releases updated regional career outlook resources to guide Michiganders toward high-demand jobs
September 23, 2025
LANSING, Mich. – The Michigan Department of Technology, Management & Budget (DTMB) has released its latest regional long-term career outlooks, offering valuable insights into the most in-demand careers across the state through 2032.
The 10 regional publications highlight top high-demand occupations by education and training levels and include a focus on STEM careers, those requiring a background in science, technology, engineering, or math. Each region’s outlook reflects its unique economic landscape and workforce needs, providing tailored guidance for students, jobseekers, educators, and workforce development professionals.
“These lists are a critical resource for students and jobseekers planning their careers,” said Scott Powell, director of DTMB’s Michigan Center for Data and Analytics. “By equipping educators and workforce partners with timely data, we’re helping Michiganders connect with high-demand, high-wage opportunities.”
For the first time, DTMB has also launched an interactive dashboard to complement the brochures, allowing users to explore career outlook data in a more dynamic format.
