2025 Michigan Cyber Summit and Michigan High School Cyber Summit to be held in October

LANSING, Mich. — Today, the Michigan Department of Technology, Management & Budget (DTMB) announced that registration is now open for the 2025 Michigan Cyber Summit and High School Cyber Summit. Michigan is recognized as a national leader in cybersecurity, and the summits serve as an annual platform for regional, national, and international thought leadership and education.

“Michigan is leading the way to invest in cybersecurity and protect our residents online,” said Governor Whitmer. “The Michigan Cyber Summit brings the public and private sectors together so we can ensure all Michiganders have the resources they need to stay safe. The High School Cyber Summit gives students an opportunity to explore in-demand, high-paying field careers in IT and cybersecurity. Let’s keep working together to keep our digital landscape safe and secure.”

The 14th annual Michigan Cyber Summit will be held Thursday, Oct. 23 and will bring together experts from across the country to discuss the latest cybersecurity trends impacting education, business, information technology, economic development, law enforcement, and personal safety. The event is open to the public and will feature information for business professionals, educators, law enforcement, and government officials. The agenda will feature internationally recognized keynote speakers and panelists, as well as experts from across the country, to lead breakout sessions on a variety of industry topics.

Tickets for the Michigan Cyber Summit can be purchased at the summit’s official website. The cost is $95 for attendees, $80 for government employees and members of the military, and $50 for college students and includes a continental breakfast, lunch, and light snacks throughout the day. The agenda will be updated on the summit website as speakers, sponsors, and breakout sessions are confirmed.

On Wednesday, Oct. 22, DTMB will host the third annual High School Cyber Summit at the Suburban Collection Showplace in Novi. The event will bring together hundreds of high school students from across the state to take part in a half-day agenda created to educate them on cybersecurity trends and best practices. The High School Cyber Summit will also showcase a variety of career opportunities available in cybersecurity and outline the path to land those jobs.

New this year, schools will have the opportunity to apply for a scholarship to assist with event registration and transportation costs. These funds are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Schools can request more information on scholarship opportunities by visiting the registration page.
