14th Michigan Cyber Summit brings together IT experts to collaborate on cybersecurity solutions

NOVI, Mich. — On Oct. 23, the 2025 Michigan Cyber Summit drew more than 600 cybersecurity experts to discuss solutions to protect Michigan businesses and individuals and stay ahead of the curve in preparing to defend, respond, and recover from cyber threat actors. The event is held each October in coordination with Cybersecurity Awareness Month.

 

"The 2025 Michigan Cyber Summit gives us the opportunity to connect with cybersecurity experts from across the globe on a variety of cybersecurity topics," said Laura Clark, Michigan chief information officer. "Michigan has a reputation as a national leader in cybersecurity, events like this allow attendees to strategize how to protect the people who live, work, play, and do business in our great state.”

The summit, in its 14th year, featured cybersecurity speakers, experts, and dignitaries from across the country, including TCE Strategy CEO Bryce Austin; Michigan Department of Technology, Management & Budget Chief Deputy Director Caleb Buhs; State of Michigan Chief Information Officer Laura Clark; Deloitte Specialist Leader Justin Palacios; Microsoft Cloud Solution Architect Michelle Checchi; Ford Motor Company Manager of Vehicle Cybersecurity Matthew Duffy; and dozens of other IT and cyber experts.

 

In addition to the Michigan Cyber Summit, the third Michigan High School Cyber Summit continued the tradition of highlighting the skills needed to fill the growing demand for cybersecurity talent. Over 350 high school students from across the state took part in an engaging half-day agenda highlighting cybersecurity trends, best practices, and career opportunities. The summit also gave students the chance to interact directly with cybersecurity experts and top industry professionals while collaborating and networking with their peers.
