Felisa Thornton

Felisa Thornton was born and raised in Detroit and is a proud Detroiter.
She worked with the State of Michigan for more than 15 years. Felisa started with the Unemployment Insurance Agency (UIA) in Lansing as an Unemployment Insurance Examiner. She then transferred to the Detroit Local Office and during her tenure she worked as a working-out-of-class lead worker throughout the pandemic. Felisa was later promoted as a lead worker in Federal Programs section before accepting the liaison role for the Community Connect program.
Felisa received a bachelor’s and a master’s degree in business administration from Davenport University. She is a proud mother of one son, Christopher, and two beautiful grandchildren, Christopher Jr. and Cassie. In her spare time, Felisa loves to travel and go to the theater. However, Felisa’s real passion is cooking whenever she has the chance.
Felisa's area of service includes the counties of Macomb, Oakland, and Wayne.
