Hazard Bulletin - Struck-By Hazards
Employers are responsible for ensuring that workers are protected from moving vehicles, heavy equipment, and other struck-by hazards. This includes maintaining safe work zones, enforcing traffic control procedures and ensuring workers are visible and alert. MIOSHA is seeing a troubling rise in struck-by fatalities, which now account for more than half of all workplace deaths investigated in 2025. MIOSHA urges employers and employees to take extra precautions, slow down, and pay attention.
MIOSHA Hazard BulletinWe work collaboratively with employers and employees to better prevent workplace injuries, illnesses and fatalities. All agency activities focus on meeting the MIOSHA mission to help protect the safety and health of Michigan workers.
