Program description

This program prepares student for entry-level career in seven areas of specialization.

Students work to become certified by the State of Michigan or through the National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE).

There are also two 5-week course that focus on oil change and tire services. Additionally, there is a Parts Specialist program for retail automotive parts personnel; this program includes a 5-week internship and has an ASE related certification that can be earned. manager.

Depending on skills, abilities, and interests, students can participate up to 6 terms

All courses incorporate the National Automotive Technician’s Education Foundation (NATEF) industry standards.

Job outlook

Students that complete our program find a job easily. Starting pay may range from the current minimum wage to a higher amount depending on the location of the job. Experienced students with leadership skills can apply for shop foreman or service manager.

Requirements

A valid, unrestricted Michigan Driver’s license.
Pass the interview process with trade instructor.

Students who most closely match the U.S. Department of Labor occupational profile for an Automotive Service Technician are accepted for enrollment.
