Schedule an appointment to speak with a Customer Service Agent. Select the date, time, and type of appointment you would like to schedule.
Appointments can be scheduled up to 14 days in advance. If no appointments are available in the upcoming two weeks, you'll see a message indicating the schedule is full and times are not available well in advance of today's date. Please continue to check back to try to schedule an appointment at a later time. NOTE: If you no longer need your scheduled appointment, please cancel it to allow someone else to schedule the time.

The UIA is renovating 5 of its Local Offices: Sterling Heights, Saginaw, Grand Rapids, Lansing, and Detroit. During construction at each location, Local Office staff will be housed at temporary locations to serve claimants who wish to speak with an agent face-to-face.

Those making in-person appointments will receive email and text notifications before their visits with updated location information.
Appointments with the Unemployment Insurance Agency will not satisfy Step 2 of the “Register to Work" requirement. Please click here for information about the "Register to Work" requirement.
Schedule a PHONE APPOINTMENT to speak with a customer service representative.
Schedule an IN-PERSON APPOINTMENT at a local unemployment office. You will be seen BY APPOINTMENT ONLY. Walk-in appointments will not be accepted.
Schedule a VIRTUAL APPOINTMENT. You will receive an email with a link to join a video call on Google Meet on your appointment date. You will need to have a Gmail account to join from a mobile device. You do not need to have a Gmail account to join from a computer.
Virtual appointments utilizing voice to text closed captioning are available for customers who are deaf or hard of hearing. To schedule this type of appointment, click on the link below, then choose "Virtual Appointments for customers who are deaf, hard of hearing or have other hearing impairments" from the menu.
