Michigan Cyber Command Center (MC3)
The Michigan Cyber Command Center (MC3) investigates the criminal aspect of network intrusions for cyber incidents involving Michigan businesses, non-profit organizations, and public entities -- including those incidents related to ransomware, phishing, business email compromises (BEC), and malicious insiders. MC3 also assists other law enforcement agencies with forensic services for similar investigations. In addition, the MC3 provides cybersecurity education and shares cybersecurity information with the public.
The MC3 is responsible for the coordination of combined efforts of cyber emergency response during critical cyber incidents in Michigan. Emphasis is placed upon prevention and investigation of cyber incidents.
Reporting Cyber Incidents Involving Individuals:
Individuals who have experienced a criminal cyber incident must file a report in person at the law enforcement agency with primary jurisdiction over the area they live (such as your local police department, sheriff’s office, or MSP post).
In addition, the MC3 recommends filing an online report with the FBI Internet Crime Complaint Center (IC3)
Reporting Cyber Incidents Involving Businesses, Non-Profit Organizations, Public Sector (Governmental) Entities, and Critical Infrastructure:
