Auto Theft Teams
Task forces created to solve auto theft problems unique to specific geographical areas.

Fire Investigation
Fire investigation services are available to police and fire service agencies throughout Michigan, 24 hours a day. The Michigan State Police, Fire Investigation Unit has field offices located in strategic locations to provide convenient and timely services. Police and fire agencies may call 1-888-684-3473 (1-888-684-FIRE) toll-free from anywhere in the state to reach their area investigator.
Fraud Investigation
The Michigan State Police Fraud Investigation Section is comprised of two teams (east and west) covering the state of Michigan. The teams shall investigate and assist Federal and local law enforcement agencies with investigating criminal activity related to fraud and identity theft while providing victims with available resources to prevent further victimization.
Marijuana and Tobacco Investigation Section
The Marijuana and Tobacco Investigation Section has statewide responsibility for conducting administrative inspections of all retailers of tobacco products as well as all businesses licensed to grow, process, sell, transport, and test medical marijuana. In addition to administrative inspections, the section investigates criminal activity of individuals and businesses who are in violation of the state’s Tobacco Products Tax Act, Marijuana Facilities Licensing Act, and related laws. Methamphetamine Response and Training
The Meth Investigation Team has statewide responsibility for identifying and investigating those individuals involved in the use, possession, and manufacturing of methamphetamine. Team members are trained to safely dismantle clandestine drug labs and provide meth awareness training to public safety personnel around the state.
Multijurisdictional Narcotics Task Forces
These task forces are staffed by a combination of state, county, local, and federal law enforcement officers. They build on inter-agency cooperation and coordination to conduct investigations into narcotics.

Services are available to police agencies throughout Michigan, 24 hours a day.
