Emergency Management and Homeland Security Division

The Emergency Management and Homeland Security Division (EMHSD) is responsible for the state of Michigan’s emergency management program. EMHSD is accredited by the Emergency Management Accreditation Program (EMAP). This accreditation recognizes compliance with industry standards, demonstrating accountability and focusing attention on areas and issues where resources are needed. The state of Michigan became EMAP accredited for the first time in 2011, and was reaccredited in 2015.
