MI Solar For All consumer advisory
The MI Solar for All program (MI SFA) has not yet distributed any materials or promotional advertisements regarding solar incentives. Any flyers or advertisements that purport to be from MI SFA did not originate from our office.
Exercise caution when approached by entities or individuals selling solar systems or related equipment. Here are some important tips:
⚠️ Review terms carefully: Always read and understand the terms of any solar offer before making a decision.
⚠️ Obtain multiple quotes: Contact different providers to ensure you’re getting a fair and competitive price.
⚠️ Protect your personal information: Safeguard sensitive personal or financial information from unknown third parties.
EGLE has heard from individuals who were told they could receive “free solar.” EGLE's Office of Climate and Energy and the MI SFA program are not aware of any state or federal programs providing solar installation at no cost. If such programs were to arise, they likely would have specific eligibility criteria.
Stay informed and protect your rights as a consumer. Please report suspicious or deceptive marketing related to solar products or services to the Michigan Attorney General’s Office at:
- Email: MIAG@Michigan.gov
- Phone: 517-335-7622
Thank you for helping us keep Michigan a safe and informed place for consumers.
