MiEnviro Portal for air
The Air Quality Division is updating how we handle information for air quality related programs by transitioning to EGLE's main environmental permitting system, MiEnviro Portal. MiEnviro Portal is a comprehensive electronic notification, permitting, emissions reporting, and compliance web-based application.
Emissions reporting is now in MiEnviro Portal; for asbestos, permitting, and compliance reporting, continue to check our website for updates.
Implications for businesses
The MiEnviro Portal system gives the regulated community (contractors, consultants, municipalities, manufacturing, and commercial businesses) the ability to submit a variety of information electronically. Incorporating the air quality information into this platform will allow for:
- the collection of data necessary to implement the federal Clean Air Act (CAA) and state Natural Resources and Environmental Protection Act (NREPA)
- a comprehensive, consolidated database that includes emissions inventory, compliance and enforcement, permitting, dry cleaning, and asbestos
- electronic submission of compliance reports, permit applications, notifications, plans, and other information necessary to meet regulatory requirements
- streamlined emissions reporting processes
- advanced technology that provides more access to electronic information
Implications for the public
MiEnviro Portal will allow the public access to more information than is currently available on EGLE’s webpages.
There will be easier access to permit applications, compliance reports, inspections reports, and air quality related items open for public comment.
MiEnviro Portal for medical waste
The MiEnviro Portal is a part of the Materials Management Division medical waste permitting process (registrations), and provides an online component for access to public information.
New and current registrants have been notified and given instructions. If you have questions, please contact MedicalWaste@Michigan.gov.
Implications for producers
Medical waste producers will submit initial and renewal registration requests, update registration information, and print a certificate of registration after issuance.
Implications for the public
The public can view registration details and verify whether a valid, current medical waste registration exists.
