Water Well Viewer

The Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy’s (EGLE) Water Well Viewer (WWV) is an interactive mapping system that displays water wells along with other information, such as wellhead protection areas, and sites of environmental contamination. Water well locations have been identified by address matching, the use of global positioning systems (GPS), and by legal descriptions. Users are encouraged to contact EGLE when inaccurate data, such as water well locations, are encountered.

The WWV allows users to retrieve a well record or a series of records by clicking on an individual well or selecting a group of wells. Roads, bodies of water, aerial photos, wellhead protection areas, and sites of environmental contamination are some of the other useful features that can be viewed along with the water wells. The well record data in WWV is updated daily.
