Part 637: Sand Dune Mining, is administered by the Geologic Resources Management Division (GRMD) and is the principal regulation for sand dune mines within designated areas up to two miles inland from Great Lake shorelines. The Statute establishes requirements for permitting, reporting, and reclamation of sand dune mines.

Edorns Mining-Nadeau Pit site applicationThis permit is regarding a sand dune mining permit renewal application by Edorns Mining LLC. The purpose of this renewal is to continue mining activities at the Nadeau Pit located in Covert Township, Van Buren County, Michigan.
Permit renewals are required by Part 637 every 5 years. The permit was originally issued for the site on May 25, 1979, and the most recent renewal was issued in 2021.
