EPA and EGLE November 3, 2000 Memorandum of Understanding and March 7, 2002 Technical Agreements on Corrective Action
The Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) entered into between the Regional Administrator of the United States Environmental Protection Agency, Region 5 (Region 5) and the Director of the Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy (EGLE) aided implementation of the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) Subtitle C Corrective Action (CA) requirements and facilitated Brownfield redevelopment at subject facilities in Michigan.
On March 7, 2002 final agreements regarding technical decisions were reached between the Materials Management Division and the United States Environmental Protection Agency based on technical meetings held between October 2001 and March 2002. During those meetings specific issues were discussed and resolved so that corrective action at Michigan Hazardous Waste facilities can be applied consistently by the two Agencies. This document, transmitted to Region 5 on April 15, 2002, serves as an addendum to the November 2000 MOU.
