EGLE's interactive calendar is designed to provide timely information on decisions before the Director, proposed settlements of contested cases, administrative rules promulgation, public hearings, meetings and comment deadlines, and environmental conferences, workshops and training programs.
The Michigan Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) provides all persons (except persons incarcerated in correctional facilities) with access to public records of public bodies. Requests to inspect or receive public records from EGLE must be in writing and describe the requested records with enough detail to enable the department to identify and locate the requested records. Some records are exempt from disclosure under the FOIA or another statute and thus will not be provided. A fee may be charged to process your request. Please note that many records are available that do not require a formal FOIA request.

The Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy requires hazardous waste Treatment, Storage, and Disposal Facilities (TSD), and Large Quantity Generators (LQG) of hazardous waste, to submit a biennial report by March 1 of each even numbered year. The next biennial report submissions will be due by March 1, 2024, covering activities in calendar year 2023.
As in the last biennial report cycle, EGLE will not be sending biennial packets. Instead, LQGs and TSDs will again report using the federal forms and instructions. Sites should submit their Biennial Report data electronically through the Biennial Report component of the United States Environmental Protection Agency's (U.S. EPA) RCRAInfo Industry Application (RIA).

The federal Site Identification form (SI 8700-12, 8700-13 A/B, 8700-23) is not required to be printed for signature or submission. A signed copy of the Michigan Site ID Form (EQP 5150) is required.
The 2023 U.S. EPA Biennial Report Forms and 2023 Biennial Report Instructions are located under the "Key Links" portion on the RCRAInfo Web page. The Biennial Report Reportable and Non-Reportable Wastes are also located under the Key Links portion of the RCRAInfo Web page.
The U.S. EPA Off-Site Identification form is not required by the State of Michigan. Completed EQP 5150 forms should be addressed to: BiennialReport@Michigan.gov. It is recommended for all forms to be emailed to prevent loss and time delays. If the forms cannot be emailed, please use the following address:
