In FY 2023 two projects were able to utilize EGLE’s Brownfield Program for both site assessment and grant funding. EGLE brownfield incentives help facilitate the redevelopment of contaminated properties, helping to create new jobs and clean the environment. More than half of EGLE’s annual budget supports local projects, protects public health and the environment, and helps create economic growth and jobs for Michigan workers. Redevelopment increases the value of brownfield sites and other nearby properties.
